Caution:
If you are contemplating the purchase of an underwater
light system, beware of those light systems that relay on segmented
couplings as the major support for the lights. These segmented
couplings were originally designed to carry cooling and/or cutting fluids
for the machine tool
industry. They articulate very well, but were never intended to
carry any weight, nor were they intended to be moved on a regular
basis. In a very short period of time, these segmented couplings
will loose their tension and your light head will begin to flop
around. The only way to correct this problem is to purchase more of
these expensive
couplings. At best, these segmented arms will move while swimming,
thus making it impossible to film on the move. Seacam was introduced
to these segmented arms in the late 1980's and soon learned of their short
comings. Be advised
